Marie McFaul

Hello, everyone my name’s Marie McFaul, I’ve been serving the Parish for 52 years. What I enjoy most is the community spirit which I’ve not found in the same way in any other place in the World. From the early 60’s I set up a toddlers group, then went onto Botwell Rise, a support group which helped young mothers with various issues raising children. I was social chair lady for the Parish for 10 years and worked with many people on the committee and raised £89,000 for cancer research. My greatest joy though is to date having completed 52 years in the choir!

A year after joining the Parish I joined the choir. I love the community spirit and find singing fun! I choose the hymns for the Mass with a friend of mine, making sure the hymns are suitable and inline with the readings. I am also the secretary to the 10th Hayes Scouts Group.

Hello, my name’s Angela and I’ve lived in the Parish since 1968. My family have been involved in the youth centre over many years and I’ve gone through all the groups and helped throughout. I sang in the folk group. I was married by Father Fisher, who also came to my children’s Holy Communions. He was there when my Mother passed away. I’ve gained many strengths through the Church where Father Fisher has been a pivotal figure. Since 1988 I’ve sung in the Choir and have had a wonderful time singing for the glory of God as well as the friendship. I’m on the Parish finance committee and been a School Governor. I’ve got so much from the Parish these are my ways of giving back and trying to help the next generation of Parish children.
